What can Jane Goodall teach us about addiction?

The focus of this paper is on selected observations drawn from a range of sources including epidemiology, cognitive psychology, psychodynamic models, existentialism and learning theories. These observations highlight how potentially effective interventions can be studied in humans without recourse to animal research.
