This essay discusses the tactics used by the opioid manufacturer Mallinckrodt, to convince physicians to sell their opioids, and that their opioids are safe, even while Purdue pharma was facing massive backlash for their part in the overprescribing of opioids. The courts forced Mallinckrodt to release internal documents, which reveal tricks this company used to erroneously shape scientific and medical opinions.
