Objective

This study evaluated fentanyl buccal tablets for breakthrough pain in opioid-tolerant patients with chronic cancer pain.

FBT was efficacious, well tolerated, demonstrated rapid onset of analgesia (within 10 minutes), and had a sustained effect.
