Objective

This document provides a roadmap for designing and implementing drug policies that are grounded in anti-racist and anti-colonial frameworks and are inspired by principles of autonomy, choice, and compassion. The Vision for BC Drug Policy is not just a drug policy platform - it is a call to action.

Findings/Key points

The recommendations outlined address four related areas of drug policy for immediate and substantive reform: (1) Drug regulation; (2) Decriminalization; (3) Addressing substantive equality in drug policy reform, and; (4) Detox, recovery and treatment. It concludes with a discussion of the principles and scientific evidence that inform these recommendations.

Design/methods

This Vision was developed by a provincial working group of civil society organizations and people who use drugs.
