Objective

This is a report on a study which sought to identify how many healthcare workers use stigmatizing language when writing about people with opioid use disorder in their clinical notes.

Findings/Key points

They found that 85% of clinicians use stigmatizing language in their notes. The report concludes that we should create a language processing AI that will autocorrect or flag these words for the clinicians.
