Findings/Key points
This presentation is geared towards prescribers managing acute pain care of patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) in Emergency Departments (ED). The learning objectives are:
- Highlight the differences in pain experience and management of patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).
- Review an approach to pain management in the ED, including ordering opioids.
- Discuss an approach to specific scenarios, such as patients on buprenorphine and injectable Opioid Agonist Therapy (iOAT).
