Hear about the new AVI Health and Community Services Knowledge Translation and Exchange (KTE) initiative aimed at providing ground-level support and education to current and prospective prescribed safe(r) supply programs. This project leans on the learnings of an interdisciplinary team with experience offering prescribed safe(r) supply programming to foster solidarity and grow confidence for new programs.

Corey Ranger
Project Manager and Lead Consultant, AVI Health & Community Services SAFER Knowledge Translation & Exchange Project
Based on the unceded land of the Quw’utsun Tribe and Malahat First Nation (Cobble Hill, BC), Corey Ranger is a Harm Reduction Nurse Educator for the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC). He is the current President of the Harm Reduction Nurses Association (HRNA). Corey is Project Manager and Lead Consultant for AVI Health and Community Services’ SAFER Knowledge Translation and Exchange Project.
Laura Cartwright
Harm Reduction Consultant, AVI Health & Community Services SAFER Knowledge Translation & Exchange Project
Based in lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territory (Victoria, BC), Laura Cartwright is an experiential front line worker. She has provided services for folks in the DTES of Vancouver, Surrey, and Victoria, BC for over 12 years. For the past two years Laura worked at Victoria SAFER Initiative supporting access to prescribed safe(r) supply. Most recently, Laura adds her voice to the KTE team while continuing to work with people dealing with mental health, addiction, and homelessness.
