L’objectif

Traumatic injury frequently requires opioid analgesia to manage pain and avoid catastrophic complications. Risk screening for opioid misuse and the development of use disorder remains uninvestigated

Constatations/points à retenir

Anxiety-related symptoms and pain coping predict opioid misuse and use disorder in injury victims. Length of hospital stay after injury may also predict opioid misuse and use disorder. Mental health factors predict opioid misuse more strongly than injury-related factors.
