Now based in Sogumkeagum (colonially known as Shelburne, Nova Scotia), Rebecca has worked in harm reduction for more than 20 years, wearing different hats (e.g., outreach worker, researcher, policy analyst) and in different contexts (e.g., shelters, mental health and justice, academia, government). From Rebecca’s perspective, accountability and collaboration are key to transforming policies, practices, systems, and institutions to ensure that the world is a better place for people who use drugs. What Rebecca loves most about her current role as the project manager is getting to work with the members of NSS-CoP, collaborating with them, and helping to lift their work. When not working, Rebecca is busy with her collection of rescued animals and learning how to garden.
