L’objectif
This alert identifies the emergence of nitazenes in the illicit drug supply. This is a serious cause for concern because nitazenes are synthetic opioids from a drug class known as benzimidazole-opioids which are estimated to be several times more potent than fentanyl.

There have been several nitazene derivatives found in the street supply in BC, Ontario, and Quebec.
