Rising rates of infective endocarditis in North America: An urgent need for attention to the rapidly changing unregulated drug supply

We discuss recent changes to the unregulated drug supply in North America, to situate the rising rates of infective endocarditis in the context of ongoing dual public health emergencies of the drug epidemic and COVID-19 pandemic and make recommendations for action to reduce infective endocarditis transmission in this context.
