Commentary on Tyndall

Constatations/points à retenir

Letter by Ryan, Sereda & Fairbairn (2020) where the authors adress a remark made in Tyndall (2020) about the importance of a safer prescribing practice from doctors in response to the overdose crisis. Tyndall mentions that doctors are reluctant to prescribe more opioids and be made an important part of a public health response to the crisis. The authors agrree with Tyndall (2020) and add that access to opioid prescriing, be it OAT or safer supply prescribing, is low in Ontario. They add that actions such as the authorisation of opioid prescribing by registered nurses in B.C is a great step in increasing access to safer supply.
